This weekend was my first time at the APAC Art Show in Avalon, NJ. This year the Avalon show experienced a change of date and change of venue. You would never know it from the well-organized team that ran this APAC exhibition and sale. A truly helpful staff greeted me at the door, showed me to my designated spot, and went out of their way to help newbies, like me, get acclimated to the workings of this event.
On Friday evening, there was food and drink available to the artists and patrons. The donations from local restaurants provided an array of choices. All the while, we were entertained by beautiful – truly wonderful – violin music from a solo artist. I loved watching her perform and she never stopped once in the entire 3+ hours. I’m sorry I do not have her name to share with you because she deserves accolades for a wonderful performance. I loved her songbook, too! Bastille, The Killers, –lots of current Alternative music that wowed me on the violin! Saturday morning they had WaWa coffee waiting for us and donuts from a wonderful local bakery.
The event was wall art, photography, and sculpture only. More than 50 artists were represented. I met some wonderful people both on the APAC team and among my fellow artists. Generous, creative spirits were abundant.
Traffic was steady on Friday evening. Saturday was leisurely paced, but I ended the day with some wonderful contacts (you will all be hearing from me), and a couple of sales.
Looking forward to next year!
