I had a great weather (yes, I know it rained a little) and art day at Harvey Cedars Art Festival this past weekend. Kudos and thanks to Susan Kramer for a terrific job with this show. Really had nice traffic all day long and super nice visitors right up until tear down at 4 PM.
I will be back at Viking Village, Booth 4, this weekend (look around the statue area) with some new big ones – crab, turtles, and a number of gull paintings, too. Probably a couple of the Buddhas as well. Hoping for some good weather and another nice crowd. Pop in and say “hello” and check out the new work!
PS- Pine Shores folk-I have flyers for our upcoming Arts Business Institute seminar. If anyone can stop by and hand them out to artists and artisans I would appreciate the help since I can’t really get out there! – Jill
This Sunday I will be at Sunset Park in Harvey Cedars for the annual Art Festival. I have been painting all summer this year and will have some new work to show (though my big turtles are still on the easel so you may need to wait a bit longer for them).
The festival runs from 10 until 4 PM. Sunset Park is on the bay side under the HC water tower. Just head north on the boulevard until you see the water tower with the tree.
Celebrating tonight because The Defender has found a new permanent home in Harvey Cedars! Thank you Laura M for adding her to your wonderful collection!
The story is important to both the making and selling of art. Often the story behind a painting is what drew me to that particular subject. This is an interview I did for the Arts Business Institute recently. It talks about “the story” as it relates to my art. Just click on the link below

This Saturday, June 30th is the Annual LBI Open Studio Tour. Now, I do not have a studio on the island but I am going to be a part of this year’s tour and you can find me at the Long Beach Island Foundation with my trusty tent from 10 AM until 4 PM on Saturday.
I hope to have some new work for this coming weekend and am looking forward to seeing all of you and maybe even doing some painting on site.
Come on out to the foundation. There will also be a photographer and ceramic artist there so you get to visit three studios in one location in Loveladies.
This is a great show — I cannot wait to be there! Come on out for a truly fun night of art, music and great food on Friday. Saturday has superb art shopping, an auction of donated art, and prizes for the artists. Make it a point to check this event out!
This is a fantastic art weekend on Long Beach island! Not only is Beach Haven holding its inaugural Art Walk event but M T Burton Studio is having its annual Summer Opener and I will be there along with a number of other new and returning artists.
I have a LOT of new work for 2018 as well as some of my marine life from last year’s series. They range from 12 by 12″ to 24 by 48″ so there is truly something for every home and budget.
Matt is located right on the boulevard in Surf City. Just look for the tents on the southbound side at 19th Street. We will be there rain or shine!
I know I just posted my new affiliation with SwellColors in LBI, but in less than a week I have expanded to Bayhead and Zsa Zsa Stackles’ wonderful gallery there.
ReFind is at 43 Mount Street in Bayhead and is a treasure trove of interesting eclectic art. I was truly enchanted by the variety and quality of work there and look forward to showing my new work there.
Since I hadn’t planned on having to stock galleries this year, it means I have had a very busy week at the easel and am still painting! I am loving the reception this new graphic style is getting and will have a selection of work up there and in place this coming Tuesday, including some of the cocktail series, gulls, and a few things you haven’t yet seen here on the site.
Zsa Zsa also is the driving force behind this June 24th’s Art in the Park in Bayhead. I missed out on this one this year, but plan to be there in 2019. Lots of terrific artists will be there on the 24th so don’t miss out!
This weekend I will be out on Long Beach Island at Matt Burton’s opener in Surf City on the boulevard. Come on out and catch some brand new work, fresh off the easel! I will be there Saturday and Sunday. Hoping you will come on out and see the great art on hand, plus there will be jugglers, refreshments, and live music.
Finally, a huge shout out to the Jersey Shore Vacation magazine for putting my painting of a gull (his name is Fat Fred) in their summer issue. They have been very good to me these last few years. It is always a little thrill to open the mailbox and see the magazine and the little “As seen in …” placard with my work on it. This particular painting will be available at ReFind in the coming week.
