Siem Reap, Cambodia, is a magical place. There are steamy jungles and forgotten stone temples where the invasive roots of the banyan trees have literally become part of the temple over time (think Laura Croft, Tomb Raider). For me, the most special place of all was the Bayon Temple where dozens of these very expressive, unique stone visages grace the giant pillars throughout the site. They are truly Zen sentinels: timeless, wise, and utterly beautiful even in their state of decay.
