Portraits

I think the most challenging paintings are my portraits. I love to capture a likeness, an expression that reveals the subject’s inner thoughts on the canvas. My favorite portraits are the ones placing folks in their own natural surroundings. It tells the viewer much about who they are; what their lives are like.

  1. These portraits are awesome, Jill! Capturing your subject in their environment is everything .These have that quality, and it looks like you have inspiration from Gaugan.(sp).

I’m thrilled to be taking a break once in a while from modeling to be drawing as well but I enjoy being the subject as well when I can be a muse in an environment .
